The Single Bay 2-Door VSD Cabinet (1200W x 550D x 1810H) is purpose-designed to house and protect Variable Speed Drive (VSD/VFD) equipment in demanding water and transport infrastructure environments.
The dual-door front configuration improves access management and operational separation. An internal isolation door secures the VSD compartment and provides a mounting surface for monitoring and control hardware. The upper section offers access to specific feed MCBs and alarm status indicators, enabling operators to carry out routine checks safely with minimal exposure to live components.
Manufactured from 2.5 mm marine-grade material, the cabinet provides long-term durability in harsh roadside environments. A cross-folded roof enhances weather protection and structural strength. The enclosure is finished in a high-performance UV RPE Almond Ripple powder coat, aligned with AS/NZS 2312.1:2014 for atmospheric corrosion protection. Optional finishes include Karaka Green (RAL 6015), Almond Ripple (RAL 1015), and T33 Smoke Blue (AS2700). An NZTA-approved anti-graffiti coating compliant with NZTA S10 is also available.
The cabinet features two external doors and an internal door fitted with a meter mount, enabling clear separation of metering, power, and control equipment. Optional feature is either to have a hole for own generator connection or including a generator extension connection, allowing temporary or emergency power supply to be safely integrated during outages or maintenance operations.
Safety and equipment protection are enhanced through restricted access to active compartments, ensuring secure operation in public or industrial locations.
This model also accommodates an optional external generator connection to support managed backup power requirements while maintaining enclosure integrity.
Internally, the enclosure includes two 600 mm DIN mounting rails and an internal gear tray, supporting organised installation of electrical and control components. The cabinet is insulated on five sides, improving thermal stability and protecting sensitive equipment.
Thermal management is achieved through a thermostat-controlled twin-fan cooling system, ensuring reliable heat dissipation under varying load conditions. LED internal lighting, activated by an automatic door switch, provides safe and efficient visibility during servicing.
Security is provided by a robust three-point locking system with swing-handle padlock, ensuring controlled access to critical infrastructure. The cabinet can be supplied mounted on an optional 300 mm front-access aluminium plinth, facilitating ergonomic access and straightforward roadside installation.
This cabinet delivers a standards-compliant, generator-ready solution for NZTA roadside ITS and electrical installations, combining durability, security, thermal performance, and operational flexibility for long-term field deployment.
