The Solar Shield is a custom-designed protective structure for existing outdoor cabinets, providing additional protection from direct solar exposure and helping to reduce heat transfer to the cabinet and the equipment housed inside.

Designed to be installed around an existing cabinet, the Solar Shield consists of three protective sides – top, rear and side – while leaving the required areas of the cabinet accessible for operation and maintenance.

The structure is securely fixed to the ground, providing a stable installation around the existing cabinet without requiring replacement or major modification of the cabinet itself.

By creating a physical barrier between direct sunlight and the cabinet surfaces, the Solar Shield helps reduce solar heat gain and minimise heat build-up. The open-sided design also allows natural airflow and ventilation around the cabinet, assisting with heat dissipation and internal temperature management.

This passive thermal protection helps support a more stable operating environment for sensitive electrical, telecommunications, control, monitoring and other equipment housed within the existing cabinet.
